Dean Yates gave Notts County a 12th minute lead after Garry Birtles flicked on a cross from Gary Mills to reduce the the aggregate to 3-2 in Walsall's favour however Trevor Christie restored Saddlers two goal advantage in this the second leg of the Play Off Semi Final with a superb left foot volley on the hour mark.


It ended his former club's chances of making the Final and long before the final whistle Walsall fans were chanting 'Going up, Going up!' It was a determined Walsall side who were not prepared to let Sunday' win 3-1 win at Meadow Lane go to waste and now faced Bristol City in the final.
