Saturday April 9th, 1988 was a very special day in the History of Walsall Football Club as our centenary was celebrated and it happened to fall on a home matchday. Saddlers were going along quite nicely in the Third Division promotion race and managed a 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers.
To celebrate this milestone, a whole host of former players were invited to be paraded pre-match which was well received by the supporters. Many had not been seen in years. Pictured here are three such players waiting for their names to be announced before they stepped forward. Granville Palin, Trevor Foster and smiling at the Street End faithful, ISSA President Stan Bennett.
