When the legendary journalist Paul Marston writes people sit up and take notice. He may be officially in retirement these days but he don't miss a thing. He is so moved by the fantastic work done by ISSA, its members and sponsors, he felt moved to send in the following message...
Paul Marston, who covered Walsall FC for the press for over 50 years.
I have always felt Walsall’s fans were the Pride of the Midlands, and that opinion has been reinforced by the wonderful gesture of the Independent Saddlers Supporters Association in providing a very generous meals-on-wheels free food service for the heroic staff of Walsall Manor Hospital. Those of us isolated at home through age or illness have time on our hands to study, appreciate and marvel at the work being done in our hospitals, but the ISSA have made a truly positive step to show the doctors, nurses and other staff at the Manor and medical centres throughout Walsall just how much their work is valued. When soccer resumes these super Saddlers fans should be invited to do a lap of honour round the Bescot pitch.
